The Piper's Legacy
Dramatic tunes of the great Highland Bagpipes and its close
relative, the Lowland Bagpipe are played by a Maritime piper, Rob Crabtree. The pipes are
accompanied by the familiar Celtic sounds of fiddle, whistle, guitar, piano, bodhran,
snare drum and the intriguing contributions of trumpet, organ, voice and dulcimer. This
recording features some of the oldest and best loved folk tunes in the bagpipe repertoire
complemented with overtures and orchestrations inspired by their classic themes. Program
time is 54:22 with 11 selections including: the mist Covered Mountains, Boat Songs, The
Meeting of the Waters, Going Home, The Road to the Isles, Amazing Grace and more.
